The tournament will be held from Friday, February 15th to Sunday, February 17th in the Sport Hall of O.Kalpaks Riga folk-art primary school, Skrindu Street 1, Riga, LV-1003

Status: 

The competition is an invitational tournament for the neighbour countries of Latvia and also some other countries. If the National Table Tennis Association does not want to participate with the national team, it has the right to forward this invitation to the club of the Association. Organizers have the right to invite some clubs from the Associations directly.

The official hospitality packages include: entry fee in two groups, accommodation (full board), free transportation from/to the airport, railway station/hotel/venue

Equipment:

Tournament will be played in one venue on 13 STIGA blue tables. 3 tables will be available for practice. DHS D40 + *** plastic white balls will be official balls of the tournament.

 

Rules:

The tournament will be conducted in accordance with the current Laws of Table Tennis, the Regulations for International Competitions. All matches will be played best of the five games.

 

 

Draw:

The draw of the groups will do the Referee together with Tournament Director using snake system in the preceding evening. The players from the same association will be drawn in separate groups as far as possible.

 

Limitations:

One player can participate not more than in 2 events. Minikadets born on 2007 and later will not accepted for the participation in the junior event.

 

System:

All the events will be played in groups of 3-4 players. Best 2 players of each group proceed to the finals where games are held in the knock-out or double knock-out system (depends of the number of entries) with the determination of all places. No matches for the 3rd place. Both losers of the semi-finals will receive bronze medals. 3rd and 4th places in the groups will have possibility to play consolation event where games are held in the knock-out system or double knock-out system (depends of the number of entries) with the determination of all places.

 

Awards:

In all events winners will receive a Cup from Riga City Council and players placed 1-4 will receive medals and prizes. Winners of the consolation events will receive souvenirs. The best national or club team (6 players, one in each group) will receive Riga City Council’s Cup. For the determination of the best team the Olympic System will be used – at first number of the gold medals, then number of the silver medals and then number of the bronze medals.

 

Entries:

All entry forms (preliminary and final) must be sent by e-mail to e-mail of the Table Tennis Federation of Latvia: . Each player’s date of birth in the form dd-mm-yyyy has to be stated in the final entry form. Please fulfil the entry forms especially final entry form with the names of the players with the computer. If you need Latvian visa please contact tournament director Genadijs Kartuzovs.

 

Deadline for the preliminary entry form (please see the attachment) with the numbers of participants in each age group and information about need of accommodation: January 6th, 2019, 23:59 local time. If we will not receive your preliminary entry form we will consider that your Association will not participate and no final entry forms will be accepted.

 

Deadline for returning the final entry form (please see the attachment):  February 10th, 2019, 23:59 local time.

 

Cancellations:

Cancellation of participation is possible until February 14th at 12:00 local time. All cancellations after this date the entering Association will be charged 20 EUR per player.

 

Transport:

Free transportation will be organized between the Riga International Airport and the Hotel. Hanza Hotel Riga is in the walking distance (1 km) from the Sport Hall and also from Riga Central (Main) Railway station.
